RSPCA Animal Rescue
7:30pm Wednesdays on the Seven Network

The team at RSPCA Australia is excited to announce the launch of a brand new TV series called ‘RSPCA Animal Rescue’.

Showing nationally on the Seven network from Tuesday 17 July, RSPCA Animal Rescue is an observational documentary in the style of other hit programmes including Border Security and The Force.  The series will now air at 7:30pm on Wednesday night.

The series will feature the challenging assignments, difficult situations and heartwarming stories faced every day by the RSPCA’s inspectors, veterinarians and other staff; the dedicated and professional men and women carrying out the animal welfare charity’s mission to care for and protect Australia’s animals.

It’s a turbulent and often emotional journey for the inspectors as they confront cases of horror and heartbreak in their efforts to rescue the lost, neglected, abandoned and abused animals of Australia – a country with one of the highest levels of pet ownershiop in the world.

The series is presented and narrated by popular Australian identity Anthony Field, aka ‘the blue Wiggle’, and was filmed during the summer months of 2006 and 2007 at RSPCAs in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Viewers of RSPCA Animal Rescue will witness some extraordinary events – from a cow caught in a river to a horse stuck in a ditch, to a wounded pelican shot by an arrow as well as many cats and dogs who’ve become hurt or been left without adequate care.

Each year, more than 135,000 animals are given shelter at one of the many branches of the RSPCA across Australia. Many are rescued by the inspectors, some are surrendered when they are no longer wanted by their owners, while others are brought to the clinics by member of the public or one of the many RSPCA Animal Ambulances in operation.

RSPCA Animal Rescue gives the viewer an up-close, behind the scenes look at the vital work performed by the RSPCA and the care provided to animals in need. It’s an environment where frontline staff make life and death decisions every day, even risking their own safety for the life of an animal.

The RSPCA is a non-government charity that depends on the support of individuals and businesses in the community to continue it’s vital work. If you’d like to help the RSPCA with a donation, click here or phone 1300 RSPCA1 (777 221).
