Political Animal

With a Federal election just around the corner why not cast your vote for the real underdogs?

Political Animal highlights the key animal welfare issues that the RSPCA would like the next parliament deal with. It's also a gateway for people who share our concerns to help us get these issues on the legislative agenda.

These issues are:

  1. Puppy Factories - we want to stop the intensive farming of dogs in cruel puppy factories.
  2. Live Exports - we want live sheep exports phased out and replaced with a more humane trade in chilled and frozen meat.
  3. Humane Slaughter - we want pre-slaughter stunning in every abattoir in Australia, regardless of cultural or religious preferences.
  4. Food Labelling - we want labelling on animal products to be clear, consistent, unambiguous and to accurately reflect method of production.

Every election in Australia is another chance to improve the lives of animals in this country.

To make a real impact on animal welfare we rely on the courage of politicians willing to speak for those that have no voice.

Community standards and expectations are the biggest influencers for politicians and candidates during any election. By becoming a Political Animal you are putting animal welfare on their agenda and potentially helping to shape future animal protection legislation.
