Get ready to bake up a storm in the fight against animal cruelty! Monday 18 August 2014 is Cupcake Day, and RSPCA ACT is encouraging all Canberran’s to take part in the biggest bake-off in the Southern Hemisphere!

Register, bake and fundraise to join thousands of other cooks all around Australia coming together to support animals in need. Of course, cupcakes are also a great excuse to gather friends for a morning tea at your workplace, school or neighbourhood, and to spread the word about all the good work undertaken by RSPCA ACT.

“Cupcake Day is such a fun day for anyone who love cupcakes and their pets…and who doesn’t?   The great part is that for anyone who gets involved from organiser to taster will be helping us care for the approximately 7000 domestic and native animals that we see every year in the greater Canberra community,” said RSPCA ACT CEO Tammy Ven Dange.

The official Cupcake Day launch will be held at CIT Reid Wednesday 30 July. Minister Shane Rattenbury and RSPCA ACT CEO Tammy Ven Dange will sample the creations made on site and chat with talented pastry students that not only have a passion for sweets but also helping animals in need.

Cupcake Day 2014 is set to be sweeter than ever, with even more frosting, fundraising and sprinkles. Get your baking trays ready for the 18th August and visit www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au to register!
