Live Export Bills to be debated

This is a momentous day!

Legislation to end live exports will be debated in the Federal parliament tonight.

For the first time, our political representatives will have the opportunity to end one of the cruelest trades in Australian history. To tune in at 8pm visit:

26 years ago a Senate Committee on animal welfare concluded that if the future of the live export trade was to be determined on animal welfare grounds alone then it should end. Since then 160 million animals have been exported to countries where laws do not protect them from cruelty and 2.5 million have died on ships.

Tonight's debate is the first step towards righting this wrong.

Over the coming weeks Senators and MPs will be considering their position on this issue. Visit www.BanLiveExport.com to add your voice and remind our political representatives what they are voting for.
