Spikey is Australia's top dog
Spikey, a spoodle from Camberwell in Victoria, has won the RSPCA's search for Australia's cutest or cleverest pet: Pet Stars.
Unlike some winners of human talent competitions, Spikey won't find his overnight celebrity status overwhelming. "He is very easygoing. His new found fame won't change him at all," said Spikey's owner Shirley Quo.
Over 5,000 photos and videos were received over the six weeks of competition. In the end, a photo of Spikey demonstrating his mastery of "doga" (dog yoga) won over Australia fans, garnering 5,045 votes.
Spikey and Shirley have won $4,000 cash and a Sony Ericsson Satio phone from Pet Stars sponsor Optus.
