Ever heard of the Five Freedoms? Well, renowned Professor John Webster from the University of Bristol in the UK, was among the first to propose this now internationally recognised framework for assessing animal welfare. The Animal Welfare and Behaviour Group he established in the UK is the largest such group in the world and considered an international centre of excellence in animal welfare research.

Professor Webster was in Australia in December 2015 talking about how animal welfare standards can be progressed globally.
