As thousands of superpooches and superheroes head out for the final lap of the Million Paws Walk, RSPCA Australia thanks the community for their support over three decades.

The RSPCA previously announced Sunday 25 May 2025 will be the last time the Million Paws Walk to be held as a national event.

Cost of living challenges and the fundraising landscape dramatically changed after the pandemic leading to the difficult decision that 2025 will be the year the final curtain will be drawn.

RSPCA Australia CEO, Richard Mussell, said that the event brought so much joy over the years and much-needed funds for the rescuing, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals.

“We are so grateful to the community for heeding the call to join the last national Million Paws Walk event being held across the country.

“We extend our gratitude to the community and their furry friends who have walked together at the event during its 30-year history.

“In that time, we have seen well over a million paws and close to a million superhumans take part in the event, giving great meaning to its name.

“Funds raised from this event will add to the $17 million already raised over the last three decades for vital RSPCA services to support animals in our care.

“This event would not take shape if it wasn’t for our committed sponsors, and I’d like to extend our thanks to this year’s incredible national sponsors Royal Canin, Bravecto and Australia Post.

“The RSPCA would like to thank these iconic brands for recognising how important the support for the RSPCA’s services is in providing for the welfare of animals.”

Registrations for the Million Paws Walk will remain open until May 24. For more information or to register, go to millionpawswalk.com.au.
