Can you believe our biggest annual fundraising event, the Million Paws Walk, has been running for 26 years now?

Many people and their pets come along every year, while others will be attending this year for the first time.

If you need a reminder of why it’s the best day out for dog-lovers every year, here are 5 great reasons to come along to the Million Paws Walk:

1. DOGS. DOGS EVERYWHERE.
This one is a no-brainer. Million Paws Walk is a day made for dog lovers. Tens of thousands of people and their pooches will be walking together to fight against animal cruelty. And if you ask their owners nicely, we bet you can pat almost all of them too!

2. The great outdoors *sniff sniff*
What’s not to love about a beautiful Sunday stroll? Exercise, fresh autumn air, smiling faces. Oh, and did we already mention POOCHES APLENTY? Even if you don’t have a pooch of your own, we guarantee there will be plenty to play with on the day.

3. Be a part of something BIG
Last year, 70,500 people and 160,000 paws walked to help raise money to stop animal cruelty. In 2020, this is your chance to join tens of thousands of Aussies and say “I was there!”

4. Meet new human friends
Australians will be uniting on Sunday 17 May to walk and help support the RSPCA, so you’re bound to meet a bunch of like-minded animal lovers. You can meet even more people by getting social and volunteering on the day too!

5. You’re helping Aussie animals in need
All proceeds from Million Paws Walk go to supporting the ongoing work of the RSPCA to help care for animals in need. So by pounding the pavement, you’re helping to keep the doors of our animal shelters open and inspectors on the road, while also providing community education on animal care and welfare issues.
